The trust was founded by Shri K. M. Ayyanathan, Chairman hailing from a rural background in Thanjavur District. The primary aim of the trust is to spread education in general and technical education in particular in and around Tiruvarur District, a socio-economically backward area, having realized the plight and hurdles faced by the rural students of the region in pursuing higher education. The trust has chosen Edayarnatham for their establishment of A.R.J Technical Institutions and striving to achieve excellence for the betterment of rural students.
